Valentines Day
A Valentines Day party can be a lot of fun for children and teenagers alike. We have some suggestions to make yours a success.
Invitations:
- Use stickers to decorate a page.
- With a heart shaped candy attached.
- In a heart shape; you can also cut it so that the heart needs to be put together before it can be read.
Decorations:
- Use the colours of pink, red and white for streamers and balloons.
- Decorate a box for mailing Valentines.
- Cut large paper hearts and put messages on them such as: my love, you're sweet etc.
- Randomly scatter hearts of various sizes on the table. Small glitter ones can be bought.
Games/Activities:
- Musical hearts - children must stand on a heart when the music stops.
- Duck, duck, goose can become Love, love, cupid.
- Match maker - give each child a card with one of a famous pair written on - they have top find their partner eg: Micky and Minnie; Donald and Daisy.
- Valentines parcel - place enough small, wrapped gifts for one each in a box and wrap it several times - when all the paper is removed open the box and each child selects one gift to open.
- Valentine bean bag toss - toss into a box through a heart shaped opening.
- Use paper, lace, glitter stickers, pens and pencils to make cards, bookmarks etc.
Food/Drink:
- Use a cookie cutter to make heart shaped sandwiches, pizzas or cookies.
- Make red or pink drinks.
- Depending on availability have some red or pink fruits and vegetables with dip.
