Party in Outer Space
Cut out space shuttle invitations..and place some glow in the dark stars in the envelope when sending out.
Decorate your party room like the universe with cut out stars painted with glow in the dark paint. Hang the stars from the ceiling with ribbon.
Have nine different sized balls painted with more glow in the dark paint (iridescent colours ) and hang them from the celing to look like the nine planets.
Hang posters on the wall of space.
Play Star Trek music.
Children may dress up as
Astronaut says ( same as Simon says ) One child is the astronaut and stands in front of other childen.He says “Astronaut says, pick up some moon rocks ” and does the action. The other children are to copy. If the astronaut does not say Astronaut says and the children do the action they are out
Have a moon rock hunt . Paint rocks with glow in the dark paint and hide them around the moon. Turn out the lights then race to see who can collect the most rocks.
Scatter large coloured pieces of cardboard around the room to make ” planets ” . When the music starts the children walk around in a circle. When the music stops the children must find a planet to stand on.. The last person not on a planet is “out” And the music starts again until there is a winner left.
Space Rations: In small plastic containers put jelly beans, MMs and any other items you can think of and label them with each child’s name.
Planet Ice Cream Cones- scoops of icecream in cones.
