    Costumes

Have you ever received an invitation to a dress up or costume party and wondered what to do?

My granddaughters did recently and we were at a loss to make a suggestion that they were happy with.

In the end one became an angel and the other a crazy, mixed up cook.

The cook wore an apron and hat that they received when doing a school holiday activity; different colours of course, and carried a plate of cakes she had made. (Not real of course).

Her cakes were patty pans stuck to a paper plate and filled with different things such as:

    • Screwed up tissue to look like a cake, different coloured tissue, different cakes.
    • a Tea cake - different sized letter 'T's'
    • A noodle cake - off white wool coiled around in the patty pan.
    • Pancake - a small cardboard frying pan.

I am sure you could think of many more.

You could also cut out small cardboard circles to make jam tarts and decorated biscuits.

The Angel costume came from one of the websites we found with costume ideas. Most of them are set up for Halloween.

The best one we found was:
